Bodhi Thai Partner Yoga

What is Thai Partner Yoga Therapy™?

Thai Thai Partner Yoga Therapy™ (TPYT) is an ancient healing yoga art considered sacred by the Thai people.  It was practiced exclusively in the temples of Thailand until more recent times.

During the two hour Thai Partner Yoga session the giver moves the receiver through a series of assisted yogic stretches, twists and breathing, combined with rhythmic palming, acu-pressure and energy work.

This type of Partner Yoga is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating for both the mind & body.

Metta

Historically, Thai Partner Yoga Therapy™ has been seen as a meditation practice for both the giver as well as receiver. A practical application of "Metta".

Metta is one of the four divine states of Buddhism:   Metta (loving-kindness), Karuna (compassion), Mudita (sympathetic Joy) & Uppekha (non-prejudice).  The seasoned TPYT Therapist has a deepened understanding of these principles and practices.  Thai Partner Yoga Therapy is an opportunity for their literal physical & spiritual expression.

The Christian philosophy describes this as Charity, the pure love of Christ.

TPYT Client Comments

“Syl's Thai Partner Yoga gives a physical sensation to a spiritual experience. Many of the postures resembled flight and gave me a feeling of weightlessness.” - Lana (Graphic Artist)

“I do massage all day long, however this type of partner yoga worked with my body's own limits. It was great-it gave me so much energy, plus the fact that I haven't felt so spiritually connected to my body in years. It was so neat! Thank you, Thank You, Thank you!” - Jackie (Massage Therapist)

“Syl is a wonderfully soft, gentle and nurturing human being. She shares this energy as she does this work. I found this experience to be invigorating and healing.” - Rex (Social Worker, Family Therapist)

“I feel like my body has just been Celestialized!” - Renea (Life Coach)

FAQ

How quickly can I get in for a session?

Syl is usually booked out three weeks in advance (with a waiting list), so if you think you are going to need a session with in a month, it is best to schedule early.

What do I wear for TPYT?

Relaxed clothing that you will feel comfortable stretching in.  A t-shirt and leggings/sweat-pants or running pants for men. Shorts should be avoided. It is recommended you have an extra layer to put on or take off (like a comfortable jacket), as your blood pressure will drop several times during your session, and you will want to stay warm.

Who benefits from TPYT?

Syl has done TPYT on ages 4-89 years of age.  She has worked on clients who have been in recovery from a stroke,  MS, Lupus, Breast & Pancreatic Cancer.  She has also helped numerous clients recover from accident injury, as well as clients who are in good health, and very athletic.  All leave their session with a deep sense of renewal.  Syl comments:  "The biggest compliment I have ever had was when my client who was recovering from a stroke, forgot his cane on the way out my door, following his TPYT session."

Will TPYT help my yoga practice?

Receiving TPYT will help you learn to move through your postures with less resistance, deeper focus and deeper awareness.
