What is Bodhi Yoga

Sanskrit for Awakening

Pronounced "Bo-dee", Bodhi Yoga™
is both a style of practice and a way of approaching yoga itself, that is founded on the deeper meaning of this word.

"Doing" Bodhi Yoga™ is practicing with an eye toward becoming more awake, more aware, and better able to notice and understand how your yoga moves your body, mind, emotions and spirit  through the edges of harmony, toward a place of balance and abundance.

Over time, the result is that you are able to naturally increase your tolerance for that abundant space; and the abundance eventually spills-over to enrich every other area of your life.

When you practice yoga from this level of awareness, you develop an “intelligence in action” that gives you freedom to move in and out of yoga poses at your own pace, and to reach a level increased "embodiment".  Bodhi Yoga™ helps you develop more fully, your optimal physical, mental & emotional strength.

Syl Carson, Bodhi Yoga™creator explains: "I like to think of the movement between one yoga asana and another as the song of my practice, and each individual pose as the space between the notes that gives the intention behind the movements their personality, rhythm and expression.  Yoga at this place becomes a conversation of Breath, Bone and Gesture.  I love it."

Bodhi Yoga™ students describe their class experience:

"I learned more in one Bodhi Yoga™ class than in the entire 2 years I had practiced elsewhere."  -Barbara Luke, 2005

“Your adjustment in last night’s class has brought me to a whole new level in my shoulders!  Yeah!  I feel like my yoga has just transformed yet again.  It is sooooooo goood!” –Karen Beagles, 2007

“I experienced a flow and alignment of mind and body I have never experienced before” – Suzie Curtis 2008

"When I practice Bodhi Yoga
™, I feel that I experience yoga at it's fullest.." - Sara Huges-Zabawa 2009
