Bodhi Yoga Marma Deck™

Just giving a shout-out tonight to the seven years it took to compile the Marma Point & Nadi Index Reference for the Restorative Partner Yoga Training.

It was in my very first Thai Partner Yoga training with Saul David Raye at the White Lotus Foundation that I heard the term “Marma point” and felt full-body chills. I knew these Marma points were in my future, even though Saul, who had studied in Thailand, knew relatively little about them.

I eventually pulled back my Thai Partner Yoga training with Saul into the Ayurveda of Partner Yoga, and developed something called Restorative Partner Yoga.

I use these Marma techniques not only in my hands-on adjustments of students in classes, and in trainings to help people realize the stability and benefits of the energy flow in yoga, postures, but also to help my little boy fall asleep, or to assist him in clearing out tightness during his high school football years. Doing a little RPY with him is still a beautiful way to connect as he is now an adult, father of two, just wrapping up his PhD.

These Marma points have been so profound as I was going through cancer, and I still use them in taking my students into a much deeper Yoga Nidra while I am teaching Monday Morning BodhiYin Yoga Restorative class—as I talk my students through where to press, pat, rub, or cup, as we ease ourselves into our week.

There are nights where I can’t fall asleep (because I’m stressed or worried about the state of the world or the heavy traffic in my mind), and with hand placements on a couple of Marmas, I drift into a deeply restorative nighttime rest.

Without the seven years, it took me to compile that 300 Page index and without the request from students and such generous help from beautiful Nic Marshall (to save my fingers from rheumatoid by too many hours spent on the computer) to transfer some of that Marma Point Index into compiling this amazing Marma Deck, I don’t know that I would ever have gotten to this. Thank you, yet again Nic for your incredible, generous contribution, that’s so many of us benefit from.

Writing and compiling this information at such a deep level would not have been possible without the group who came and spent a couple of weekends tucked into the house during a snowy January Winter in 2016, and helped me compile that original index!

That time, with the five of us was a monumentally COZY Odyssey, and I couldn’t have done it without all of your help: Jennifer Atwood, Stephanie, EM, and Chelsea sitting around the table for several days, eating our Bombay House Indian food together, as we sourced and compiled my research into those 300-page index tables. I’ll never forget walking the snowy labyrinth together in the moonlight and the guy that came to drone film while we were therein the snow.

I am at the point where I am ready to go back meticulously through each card and make sure each of the 86 Marma Point cards in this deck are accurate and consistent. I’m really close to being able to start working with the Printer Gal, and figure out pricing.

And looking at this beautiful deck that creates a short synopsis marma reference, of the expanded training that we do in the RPY weekend sessions, with the 400 page manual and the 300 page Marma & Nadi Index reference, I’m going to be making the Marma Deck available to not only those that have taken the RPY training, but to the general public as a user friendly introductory reference to these powerful secondary chakras all over the body.

None of these resources I develop to offer you would be possible without my teachers’ support, so I’m giving a shout-out to Saul, with the photo from our time together at White Lotus, when we were such young adult babies! As well as so many of you who have supported my work over the years! There are SO many of you who have stepped up to help and inspire me over the years, in so many profound ways!

The reason my work has become what it has is due in large part to the requests you all have made that encourages me to keep going, because YOU ARE ALWAYS REMINDING ME that there is more to do, and more ways to grow.

I posted a 20-min video on the YTT Facebook page that you will want to check out if you are interested in pre-purchasing a Marma Deck™. Once I have all Marma Deck™ orders in, I will place the order with the Printer. She said that if she can get it by the first week of September, I will have the Marma Decks™ to put in your hands by our in-person Soul Weather PRO™ gathering on the 25th-26th of Sept. That gives me about 2 weeks to make sure everyone who wants one gets it, since I’m ordering decks only for those who want them.

I just got back from meeting with the printer, and it looks like the Marma Deck™ will be $95. This includes about (or slightly over) 95 full-color cards on Silk Paper (this is the same high quality/durable paper that the Chakra Deck™ is printed on).

This is what I expected, as the Chakra Deck is 62 cards and comes in at $55 from the last printing I did three years ago. I assume that when I go to print new Chakra Decks, the new pricing (with all the current tariffs on production materials) will come in around $65.

Because my markup is so small, I will only be printing for pre-orders (like I do with the Moon Calendar). So go ahead and just Venmo me, and I will place our order with the printer from the list of purchases on my Venmo at: [https://venmo.com/u/Syl-Carson](https://venmo.com/u/Syl-Carson)

I will also be placing an order for the 2nd Edition 300-page Marma Point & Nadi Line Indexes at the same time, so if you have ENROLLED IN THE RPY IN THE PAST and want the New 2027 Edition, text me and I will let you all know, as that printing price will be discounted from normal printings because I am adding it to the Marma Deck™ invoice. My guess is between $65-$75, depending on how many Decks and Indexes I print on the same order.

Images above are the test print of a few of the cards, so I can see that the layout in the color scheme is working correctly. Once the decks are printed and shrink wrapped, they will have the rounded corners and be the exact same size exact same paper as the chakra deck, which I’m already using side-by-side as you can see above.

It is exceeded my expectations and I am looking forward to getting it into the hands of so many of you who have already purchased.

Thanks again for your support of my work.

Namaste,

Syl
